Shaping My Life

When I was a child, just going to the nearest big city from my hometown felt so long — even though it was only a 30-minute bus ride. My sense of time and distance was very different, and I measured the world in that small microcosm. Certain milestones later expanded my worldview and self-knowledge tremendously. Early in my life, we started a continuous chain of moves with my mother and brother. Later, our family grew with my mother’s remarriage. During primary school, I wasn’t drawn to what we had to learn in class; instead, I was always searching for interesting TV programs, history, science, and travel stories. I was fascinated by Bear Grylls, David Attenborough, Mythbusters, and films like Star Wars and The Lord of the Rings. This was the time I began creating my own world — beginning with Kung Fu after leaving football and athletics. By secondary school, I was enchanted by faraway lands and cultures. I loved researching interesting tribes and languages, and began learning Japanese and Chinese. I developed a desire to avoid the traditional life cycle — I didn’t want a girlfriend, family, or children — and immersed myself fully in my hobbies. Unconsciously, I became a dreamer, aspiring to live as a life artist.

The stability our parents provided allowed my brother and me to try our luck in the 🇬🇧 UK right after I finished secondary school. I decided on this path because I felt I could have a better future abroad, and my brother invited me to go with him. It was a time to open myself to life. Gradually, I built a mindset: there are more places to discover and experiences to gain than by staying in one country. This mindset brought me to where I am today.

I’ve traveled to different countries — sometimes for relocation and work, other times for short but meaningful trips. Each place gave me something different, but on this site I share only the destinations that truly shaped me.

Three places, in particular, shaped the path that brought me here:

  • 🇬🇧 UK — Living and working here boosted my English and taught me to be more independent.
  • 🇸🇮 Slovenia — a family trip that opened my eyes to shared experiences and connection in nature and cultural landscapes;
  • 🇲🇹 Malta — seven years of life there transformed me from a language learner into a software developer, and taught me what it means to grow through work and in a relationship;
  • 🇻🇪 Venezuela — the place where I found deeper meaning, re‑evaluated what matters, and began shaping my ultimate lifepath.

Each of my experiences deserves its own story — and that’s what I’ll also share here on this blog. My journey didn’t begin with a destination, but with a mindset: to live fully, learn deeply, and let life bringing you surprises and miracles.

Here’s an old video my brother edited, capturing our move to Wales. 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿
